Abstract: With the development of science and technology, people have put forward higher and higher requirements for the surface roughness and surface shape accuracy of optical components, and the surface defect detection technology of optical components has also received extensive attention.

Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin have developed a hybrid nanomaterial capable of writing, erasing and rewriting optical components. The researchers believe that this nanomaterial and development techniques could be used to create a new generation of optical chips and circuits.

Recently, the research group of Situ Guohai from the Information Optics and Optoelectronic Technology Laboratory of the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the research group of Professor Zhang Yan from the Department of Physics of Capital Normal University jointly proposed a reconfigurable terahertz metasurface implementation scheme.
